This piece is feminine yet bold. It is perfect for summer with a pretty sun dress or winter on a soft pastel cashmere sweater. The huge Australian boulder opal has swirls of neutral tans, lavender, peach, coral and mauve. It is strung with a light mix of the most sparkly micro-facetted, pastel tourmaline briolettes spaced by the covetted 14k gold wave beads that are no longer available. Even though I search my heart out for the waves at every gem show. There is a bit of weight to this necklace due to the large opal. I have kept the weight as light as possible with the lacy feminine stringing and to my pleasant surprise the look and balance worked well. It is strung to 16 3/4" with a 14k lobster claw clasp.
