This is one of those spontaneous pieces that came together without being designed first. Feeling creative, I just grabbed the gold and stones and this is what materialized. Speaking of materials, this necklace does not skimp! It has a beautiful lavender pinky purple and tan (35mm x 17mm) bezel set boulder opal with purple, blue and teal flash. It also has a 12mm x 10mm prong set emerald cut light color ametrine.

What is ametrine, you ask?

Well, the stone amethyst and the stone citrine are both in the quartz family. In fact, I believe citrine is amethyst that has been naturally heated by the earth‘s radiation. Therefore, amethyst and citrine grow together. A skilled stone cutter has the opportunity to create a unique bicolor natural stone called Ametrine by faceting the color break in the crystal.

The bezel is 22k gold and all of the other metalwork is 14k. It is a one of a kind formed and fabricated pendant on a double strand necklace. The pendant's overall size is 2” x 1.25”. It is strung with two tones of rhodolite garnets, 14k gold beads and teeny tiny seed pearl accents. The garnet beads toward the pendant are a beautiful sparkly deep wine color and the garnets toward the clasp are sparkly, soft lavender-rose color. They suit the boulder opal PERFECTLY! This piece is gorgeous! It is 14k gold and is strung with a bulls eye clasp to approximately 19 ½ inches on a durable synthetic fiber that moves like silk but doesn't stretch, shred or fray like silk.
