Lace Ruff in Navy
The height of fashion in the period of 1550-1600 is characterized by increased opulence and the rise of the ruff. You know the ruff, that fluffy collar worn by women of wealth in old paintings. Here is my version of the ruff in a modern, wearable, fun version for the year 2011! This piece has a handmade glass bead by Lisa joy Sachs teamed with one of my smooth piece of lapis lazuli set in fine and sterling silver. This pendant is strung with azurite malachite beads and tiny onyx accents to 16.25" long. The pendant measures 2' x ¾" long.
