Lace Ruff in
Blue
The height of fashion in the period of 1550-1600
is characterized by increased opulence and
the rise of the ruff. You know the ruff, that
fluffy collar worn by women of wealth in old
paintings. Here is my version of the ruff
in a modern, wearable, fun version for the
year 2010! This piece has a handmade glass
bead by Lisa joy Sachs teamed with one of
my baby bluish boulder opals. Both are wearing
a ruff of sterling silver. They are strung
on natural, fine blue zircon facetted beads.
