Opal Goddess.
A trio of opals in ocean colors comprise
this 22K and 14K gold pendant. The center
opal is technically a black opal, because
it has the presence of manganese. The other
two are boulder opals (opals still in the
ironstone host rock in which it naturally
grows). My initial thought on this piece was
to make a series called “Trail Markers.” It
morphed into a goddess instead. To accentuate
the ocean colors in the pendant, I have strung
emeralds which blend into aquamarines. This
piece measures 19.75” long and has a
lobster claw clasp.
